This part really is annoying to read. Everything Dobin is saying is sensible and shouldn’t be argued. A grown ass adult shouldn’t be arguing with a child to begin with (especially for 3 gd chapters😮💨). This seems to be more about the old man having a taste of glory, rather than Dobin. Dobin’s already been accepted by the greatest living conductors and composers worldwide. A competition isn’t going to do anything for his “worth” since his “worth” has already been realized worldwide. It’s a bit nonsensical that this much effort is being put into this subplot that has no meaning to the overall story.
Joining a competition to avoid military service… Reminds me of Kang Hyun from for the musical genius.

I love how she told him to calm down despite everyone shutting down his opinion. It would make more sense to go, but he’s content with being the already famous genius he is. Leave him be. Imagine being punished for only having the skill level of Beethoven.
