I think the teacher is rushing because he is dying. But honestly the transition of music is changing way too fast. We have so many genres now compared to before. It’s good that people are experimental and making new music. But if they standardize on how fast paced the changes are, artist will easily get burnt out and older artist can’t adapt to newer generations.
