Ain’t gonna lie I like sword users more than magic or whatever cuz sword users having a technique that is cutting a part of the reality is just so fucking cool to me
A quick review. I’ve reached chapter 105. The thing about this novel is that it’s honest. The author makes it clear from the start that this is a story about someone who regrets dedicating his entire life to cultivation and missing out on life itself. He’s given a second chance and tries to experience life fully. As he does, the number of people he loves grows, and so does his responsibility to protect them. That’s pretty much the core of the story.
Now for the problems in the manhwa:
The author doesn’t focus much on power levels, so you often have no idea how strong the MC, or any character, is. There’s no clear power scaling to rely on. We don’t even know if he’s stronger than his past self, or stronger than his master.
His strength rises far too quickly compared to everyone else. Yes, we understand that he has experience from his past life, but this would’ve been a perfect chance to show clever outplays, and accumulated wisdom, using his experience to dominate opponents who are technically stronger or higher level than him. Instead, the author just makes him stronger than everyone he fights, whether it’s a genius or a veteran fighter. A huge amount of potential was wasted here.
Problem number two creates another issue, the MC ends up disappearing for around 20 chapters. Because if he were present with the people he loves, he would just save everyone instantly. The author made him too strong, to the point that his presence breaks the story.
The side characters aren’t well developed. Honestly, even the MC himself isn’t that developed when you think about it. A character with a past life should show at least some wisdom, but that’s mostly missing. As for the side characters, they’re very basic, like in most manhwa, especially the mother. Out of nowhere, she turns out to be a fighter, starts giving techniques, revealing hidden stories, and even offering enlightenment. Come on.
There are more problems, but I’ll ignore them because, as I said, the author was honest from the beginning. This is just a story about someone who wants to enjoy life with the people he loves. There’s no deeper meaning or higher philosophy here, and that’s all.
You said “A character with a past life should show at least some wisdom” but he was just training in his whole life to compelete his sword technik. So he doesn’t know anything else aside from his sword in his past life.

Only 4 I agree.
