If the minor antagonist character is overpowering the presence of the main lead simply by acting well, that seems to me to be the fault of the person that assigned the roles.
Seeing as he is the solely responsible person for deciding not to cast the the ‘outstanding’ person in the lead role, he should blame no one but himself. If a director ever tells actor to not stand out with their acting, they should be fired and never allowed to direct anything again. Though clearly, he’s just a student here and is supposed to be learn…so he should just be switched over with the assistant guy that actually seems to know just about everything about the process better than him.

Pathetic trash.
