But also, I’m finding a trend that a lot of acting manwha seem to use mental illness as a theme for the roles the characters get. Sometimes, it’s written well, but other times I feel like it could be written a bit more… respectfully? 🤔 Or with more nuance? Idk.
The tropes of a psychiatric hospital as a place of horror instead of healing and the mentally ill as being violent and scary don’t really say anything new. But I guess the play hasn’t ended yet, so we’ll see in the next chapters.
