First, why do parents in this situation never take responsibility? This guy is this way because of how he was raised, not because of genetics. It’s obvious the father neglected him and the mother doted on his every whim, teaching him that there’s no such thing as consequences and he’s “perfect just the way he is.” I’d say it’s 90% his parent’s fault.
Second, didn’t he already examine the body and see that it has a mana defect? Did the sword lose his own memories, too?

In this case I feel like it a case of the dad tried but was to busy and the mom basically undid any progress and spoiled him.
