I know you’ll never see this so I don’t know why I’m bothering, but Catapults aren’t modern artillery. They can’t shoot an infinite amount of distance, even Trebuchets are only up to about 300 meters or so and regular catapults are far less than that. They’re also not accurate and they’re trying to very specifically destroy the enemy’s food supply as that would be a strategic victory, rather than just cause bits of random damage.
Your idea would be to have him create two or however many catapults about 100 meters from the enemy army and fire a couple of projectiles at them and hope for the best that it does something useful before they have to abandon the catapults because they’re quickly going to be charged down by cavalry.
Congratulations, you have now given the army that is coming to siege your walls, siege equipment. What an incredibly well thought out plan clearly you must have spent many hours considering the pros and cons of such an idea. I feel embarrassed for you having made that post, and for anybody who upvoted such a negative IQ plan.
