oh this is from JP? yea never mind lol. if immediately revealing that she suspected her guard wasnt bad enough, this being from JP makes me think it’s not going to get any better. too many webtoons from JP feature female leads who literally just want to be liked. that’s it and that’s all. doesnt matter if there’s a compelling story to be told – doesnt matter if it’s an adaptation, and in the novel, there WAS a compelling story told. in the webtoon, all the female lead will do is make this worried face 😥 and stress about being liked by somebody, ANYBODY. it doesnt matter if theyre liked by a scum male lead. survival requires grit, strategy and cleverness – being liked can be useful in the short term, but if someone else’s politics dictate that you hold far too much power, not even them loving you would realistically stop them from attacking your power – so why would being LIKED be sufficient?
