Old train brakes were made from asbestos, but that’s a fairly unknown bit of info. They were phased out ofc, bcuz of health concerns, and were switched for iron blocks and steel thread, which is a pretty obvious evolution, or rather, should’ve been figured out prior to ever thinking of using asbestos. Basically, ol boy shouldn’t be having such issues with such an easy idea: steel and iron are the materials he’s using right now to build the rest of the train, so it’s odd he’s getting hung up on the brakes when the materials are already in front of him😅.
I’m sure you could hand-wave a lot of stuff with “well magic/other ppl can take care of it” but i imagine he’s trying to make it as realistic and practical as possible for the ‘normies’ or so versus just only letting royalty use it
