As short as it is, I think it is rather suffice because I think it is just trying to not mess up the order of the story, considering that the next chapter may actually going to add some WN scene. If I am you, I need to savor LVL2 Gungnir as much as I can because you will probably not going to see the Gugnir for a VERY long time until the Light finally finishes his 1st objective and onto the next-least according to the Web Novel chapters, BTW.
The previous battles against Sasha’s angles and Soul Dragon in their respective arc were just his flex to show the dreed of LVL9999. This one is due to emergency and time is pretty much running out.
If you’re asking about Daigo’s would-be demise to. LVL2 Gugnir, that would be WN’s Arc 7’s Chapter 28 and Ln Volume 7′ Chapter 13.

This new chapter is the SIXTH part Tag vs. 1 handicap duel of Light and Nazuna vs. Daigo and X-Punk has done it now. Divine Burial/God Requiem Gugnir is BACK but, unlike the past arcs where it is served as a power-flex during Light’s past battles against Sasha’s Angels and Soul Dragon respectively, Light NEEDS it to neutralize Daigo’s trump card before it can nuke the Tower Town and it’s vicinity. Not to mention said trump card is surprisingly durable for withstanding Nazuna and her clones’ attacks despite their best efforts. Speaking of Daigo, we unfortunately have to deal with his temper tantrum that REALLY reflecting how insufferable, deranged and especially delusional he has become just to get the EXP he so desired, even going as far as to mock Light’s efforts to stop his trump card as “futile” (He is not first nor the last idiots who said that to Light until he got FAFO) despite not knowing the Gugnir! Anyways, with time is really running out and the stakes are getting high, Eri reluctantly unlock the Gugnir’s second seal with her spells and we get to see full transition of the effects that shock both Nazuna and especially Daigo by the end of the chapter-enter Gungnir LVL2:25% or 50% more power, double the dread and danger.
As I have said, the previous battle against Sasha’s angles and Soul Dragon from their respective arcs was power-flexing, This one, however, is a different story because time is really not on his side. The last time he used this cursed weapon is damaging his right hand. Now? With the Gugnir goes LVL 2 and let’s hope he doesn’t loses his own arm as the result of this power.
As for Daigo? Even now, all this punk ever think about getting the EXP and his decent to insanity further enforcing what I said about this fool: He didn’t leveling up for noble purposes like Lilith nor especially having patience like Light. Like, this is a punk’s huge mistake is not understanding his own weakness and his latest one is very much fatal because he doesn’t know that what Light is holding to beat him is a Genesis Class Weapon–the ONE and ONLY in the world. .Had he not for his bloated ego, this Double-Gifted Master could be a more formidable foe but alas, said bloated ego IS the reason to his own downfall. Hei must be felt embarrassed for having THAT guy as his challenger to fight him.
In other words, the Undertaker King’s 13-0 win record is pretty mucha certaintyand savor the Gugnir’s appearance while you still can because you will not going to see it for e VERY long time until the final saga of the series. At least as far as the original WN is concerned,
Other times where Gugnir’s appearance, WN
Light using his Gugnir for the forth time while battling against Draggo who, like Daigo, using his Mythological/Mystical weapon to even the odds. While the weapon did gave him and his team some boost, the downside about this weapon’s side effect that actually drove the user to insanity, hence his own “fearlessness” to see the Gugnir. Light has to use nerf cards to nerfing this ominous spears before shattering it completely.
Given that Hiro has now reached LVL9999 by murdering Hisomi and then Kaizer when the explosion room failed to kill Nazuna, one would even wonder if LVL3 or MAX LVL of Gugnir will do the trick…
