manager oppa is a weird combo, makes sense for a manager to be older but i wonder how many girls act cutesy/aegyo by saying ‘oppa’ too to get on their good side/butter them up XD
sure but adding i’d be used to either “manager” or just “oppa” versus combining them lol, tho other than being more casual i’d think you’d be more formal with someone hired on as your manager lol
considering some ppl use ‘oppa’ in place of ‘babe’ for bfs as well, feels like it’d cause some awkward misunderstandings even if it literally means brother tooo-
Honestly, tv just romanticized the word oppa too much. Here in korea, and to us koreans, oppa just means older-brother duh. Should she call the manager “Mr.Manager” everytime when supposedly they have a relationship where they support each other a bit close? Or should she straightforwardly call him oppa directly which would be much awkward when you think of professionalism? Internet puts malice to everything so innocent honestly.

dude, it’s a normal honorific. If you know anybody who’s older than you in a close way you will call them oppa/hyung or unnie/noona

Oppa is mostly used because you are close, its not about being cute
