In Roman Mythology Pluto is the God of not just the Underworld, but also wealth and hidden gems. Some say those hidden gems have curses tided with them if not used or cleaned properly.
As much as I support providing extra context for myths when they’re relevant to stories, in this case I believe they’re referring to the planet (or rather, dwarf planet), rather than the Roman rendition of Hades, God of the Underworld.
The literal planetary body. Or the representation thereof. The same way Terra is the prime Deity of the planet Earth, but *not* equivalent to the ancient nature goddess (or at least, that’s how I read it).
