Honestly at this point I blame the editors, their literal job is to look at any of the dozens of successful regression revenge stories and see what readers respond well to, and somehow they can’t figure out that taking multiple chapters, full of exposition and trope-filled dialogue, to deal with fodder just leads to people dropping your series
