To clear things up. If Asrahan has a spy network capable of monitoring a family member they previously rejected then it makes sense that the government’s does as well. Also time frame details from the point of the MC and his friend agreeing to go to the village and then the golden haired knight pursuing them has not been given, it could very easily be several days. They chose not immediately go on the other longer journey because of the time involved so this shorter journey was probably still one involving several days travelling, or even more.
