I feel like he’s emotionally constipated. Like he sees everything through logic and reason, and doesn’t quite understand emotional outburst.
i think if anything it’s that he understands emotions TOO well. he broke down the feelings she was having, identified them as admiration and not love, and let her down as easily as possible
He understands them, but doesn’t seem to feel them. Like how a an AI might understand how a human behaves while experiencing certain emotions but never experiences them firsthand.
