His fixation with being normal comes within and he’s really committed, no one will stop him by just saying to stop being so insistent on being normal. The only way to tell him that’s okay it’s by showing—like the parents are doing by celebrating—that some people, even “normal people,” excel at different things in life, that he doesn’t have to show that he’s mediocre on every subject to be called normal.
