tbh, it’s more like asian culture most of asian is like that, it starts with the culture where we were taught from young age that we should respecting older people, then it develop to the meaning of respecting your seniors and elders, and thus sometimes those elders and seniors become arrogant because of that, I’m not saying it applies to all seniors and elders, it’s just that some people are fooling their own head with their ego because of this culture we have, truly sad.. indeed

I don’t understand Korean culture, a guy who is only a year older demands to be called senior and respected like he is a god.
