The Veteran Swordmaster’s Stream (Novel) - Chapter 23
Chapter 23
[Magic Tower Master Guide (Incomplete Version)]
[Thanks to a certain streamer, many people are trying to catch the Rulers these days, so I’m also sharing some information I know about the Magic Tower Master. (Note: written in short-hand style. Also, I have never cleared it either. It’s an informational post that’s embarrassing to even call a guide.)
The setting is the 8th floor, the top floor of the Magic Tower where the sky spreads across the ceiling, which is where the Magic Tower Master’s office is located.
From what has been confirmed, the Magic Tower Master is divided into a total of two phases.
Phase 1 uses normal magic.
Fireball, Ice Arrow, Forest’s Binding, Earth Barrier, Teleport, etc.
If you like unrivaled combat and have experienced a lot of magic while doing quests on the previous floors or in the city, it is at a level that is slightly difficult but dodgeable.
The reason it’s slightly difficult is that the Magic Tower Master’s magic is large-scale or has a much faster casting speed, and it pours down relentlessly.
As a side note, he occasionally does multi-casting too.
I recommend bringing utility-related skills and high-defense equipment.
Anyway, if you are a user who is confident in your controls to the point of enjoying unrivaled combat, you should be able to pass Phase 1.
But Phase 2 is where the problem starts.
Once he takes a single hit, he enters Phase 2 from then on, and from this point, the Magic Tower Master wraps himself in a barrier.
Damn it.
Normal attacks don’t work.
I used a high-damage bomb, and this can penetrate the barrier to deal a tiny amount of damage.
But he uses the barrier again right away.
Then couldn’t you just bring a ton of bombs and go?
That’s true, but the problem is that you can’t survive until you deplete all of his health.
From Phase 2, the Magic Tower Master shoots lightning.
This is seriously fucking fast.
(Video)
As you can see, dodging it is really hard.
But it’s indiscriminate rapid fire.
Just how much mana does he have?
I even called a friend and made him act as a lightning rod next to me, but there was no match for infinite mana.
(For reference, don’t do it with a friend. Under the guise of balance adjustment, the magic becomes twice as strong.)
I’m going to look for other special items now. Since the game is so vast in the first place, there must be several ways to clear it.
There might be a Phase 3.
Since it has only been a day, well, I’ll research various things in the future.]

“I see.”
Seo-jun opened his inventory with an awkward expression.
All he had was a worn-out guard’s sword and a basic hood.
And about forty machetes collected while wiping out the gang.
It was a bit shabby.
-LOL he has nothing
-Even if he manages the lightning, he won’t be able to penetrate the barrier
-Go for assassination right now lol
-Infiltration is the most fun on the 8th floor anyway. It’s full of all kinds of traps installed by the Magic Tower Master himself.
“Well, there must be a way. Looking at the mission details, it seems like it would be a success even if I assassinated him. But since I have a conscience, I won’t do that.”
The mission certainly did not say not to assassinate him.
Of course, if Seo-jun said he would assassinate him here, the viewers were bound to riot.
“By the way, I really don’t know the grain of magic either, and hmm, I might die for the first time. Looking at the barrier, it’s just circular, so I doubt if it even has a grain.”
Seo-jun played the video that was in the guide post.
It would certainly not be as fast as real-world lightning, but it was at a speed so fast that making a distinction was meaningless for a human.
-Honestly, you wouldn’t be able to cut that even if you used Spot Weakness. It’s too fast
-It’s looking like a mission failure.
-It’s a safe asset.
As soon as Seo-jun finished speaking, a notification sounded.
And Seo-jun grinned.
[+5,000 won added to the reward]
[+7,000 won added to the reward]
[+3,000 won added to the reward]
.
.
.
As the first notification rang, the prize money rose as if triggering a chain reaction.
In Travel’s mission system, once a streamer accepted a mission and it appeared on the broadcast screen, anyone could freely add prize money.
The viewers, thinking that the probability of the mission failing had increased due to Seo-jun’s current remarks, were raising the money.
Since it was a so-called safe asset that they would get back anyway if he failed.
[Clear without using Spot Weakness when facing the Magic Tower Master — Mission Reward: 1,230,000 won]
-LOL
-Don’t be fooled, everyone!
-It’s so obvious the streamer playing weak was calculated. Look at him playing the video once more just to get more reward money. In his mind, he has probably already thought of what to do.
-I smell the familiar scent of capitalism.
-Tsk, this is why quick-witted kids are…
When Seo-jun smiled, the viewers who saw it began to catch on.
“No, it’s not. There’s no way I know what to do. It’s not like I’m a game developer or anything.”
-Gasp.
-Could it be??
-A highly reasonable suspicion arises.
-No wonder he was so confident even when self-reporting *shudder*
Seo-jun closed the chat window and opened the door to the 8th floor.
“I said it’s not……. Sigh, whatever. Let’s go in now.”
-LOL

“Hmm? Who are you?”
A young man sat with his hands clasped over the desk.
He had a neat style, with white hair cleanly swept back, a sharp uniform, and white gloves on his hands.
Magic Tower Master Duke.
The interior of his office was surrounded by high bookshelves packed with books, and the ceiling was open as if the sky could be seen.
Behind the Magic Tower Master was a hallway, where strange mechanical devices and spell formulas could be glimpsed.
“I’m Unnamed?”
“Unnamed, is it. Why have you come here? No, how did you get here?”
“That is……”
Fwoosh!
Seo-jun stopped answering, drew his sword, and cut through the magic that suddenly flew at him.
“It seems you have some skill. What a pity. This could have ended easily.”
With just a single gesture, the Magic Tower Master generated three more fireballs, shot them at Seo-jun, and slowly stood up from his seat.
Seo-jun, also without moving even an inch, moved only his arm to eliminate the fireballs.
Step.
And he took a step forward.
“My, how rude. Don’t you think?”
“Are you speaking to me?”
With another gesture, more than ten ice arrows appeared.
It was obnoxious that he kept his other hand behind his back.
“I’m talking to someone other than you. Someone like that.”
Seo-jun approached the Magic Tower Master while dodging the arrows.
Step.
“Is that so? So, how did you come to this place?”
Rustle.
Rumble.
Vines attempting to bind him first, and then sharply rising rocks trying to strike down the bound him, approached in sequence.
Seo-jun made his way through the vines, drove his sword into the rocks to neutralize the magic, and took another step forward.
Step.
“I just walked in like this. Since the doors weren’t all locked.”
-So cool
-Fact)
-Ah lol you should have managed the doors properly lol
-It’s easy up to this point
“Hmm……. Can you really dodge this as well?”
Once again, a wave of magic rushed over him.
However, no matter how much faster it became and how much its power increased, there was no doubt that it was fundamentally the same magic.
“Yeah. I can dodge it even with my eyes closed.”
Step.
-Fact) 22222
-The streamer’s wit lololol
-Considering how he used to troll the viewers in the first place, there’s no way his personality is good lololol
“Before we knew it, we’ve gotten quite close, haven’t we?”
Unlike before, Seo-jun instantly narrowed the distance and slashed his sword from left to right.
Slash!
Although the Magic Tower Master quickly teleported back to escape, a thin line was carved onto his neck and blood splattered.
He had been slightly too late.
However, the Magic Tower Master did not show any signs of surprise; instead, he wore a serene expression, much like the one Seo-jun always had.
“Hmm. Fine. I shall face you with all my power.”
The Magic Tower Master took off his white cotton gloves and gathered his hands together.
And blue sparks began to fly around the Magic Tower Master.
-It’s Phase 2
-Get away for now
-Run away!
Crackle!
The Magic Tower Master stretched out his hand toward Seo-jun.
The air ruptured as thunder roared.
Kraboom!
A vivid blue lightning, like something seen only in a Tesla coil, brushed past Seo-jun’s side and slammed into the floor in an instant.
The magic lingered in the air for a moment before vanishing, leaving behind a floor that was dug out and blackened.
‘Hah.’
It was a speed far faster than even the swift sword of an absolute master he had experienced in his past life.
“How am I supposed to deal with this?”
Seo-jun broke out in a cold sweat.
A speed of 100,000 km per second.
Even if it was slowed down 10,000 times from the original speed, it would be 10 km per second.
It was a relief he had watched the video beforehand.
-How the hell did you dodge it lololol
-At this rate, isn’t he seriously pro level? Why is he streaming?
-Because the streamer is crazy for streaming lololol
It was impossible to see it and dodge.
Instead, he could dodge by looking at the Magic Tower Master and predicting the timing.
Crackle!
As sparks flew from the Magic Tower Master’s hand, electrical currents gathered again.
Seo-jun did not take his eyes off the Magic Tower Master’s hand.
Kraboom!
Once again, lightning struck the floor.
The magic grazed past Seo-jun’s right shoulder.
Seo-jun believed that the most important thing in a fight was observation.
Crackle!
Electrical charges gathered in the Magic Tower Master’s hand.
Kraboom!
And the lightning magic struck down again.
Crackle!
This time, Seo-jun threw himself to the left to dodge.
Kraboom!
Unlike bullets that were fired as soon as the trigger was pulled, magic had a slight delay until activation, and Seo-jun used that delay to dodge while continuously observing.
After fighting like that while making a mess of the office a few times, Seo-jun was able to notice a few things.
First, the Magic Tower Master.
‘I don’t know for what reason, but he doesn’t seem to want me getting close to the back over there.’
When he moved to the right, the Magic Tower Master shot magic even further to the right, inducing Seo-jun to return to his original position.
‘It’s the same even if I go to the left.’
Even when he narrowed the distance while narrowly dodging the lightning in a straight line, the Magic Tower Master did not back away; instead, he used his shield to push Seo-jun away and held his ground.
Since Seo-jun had no way to break the shield, he had no choice but to pull back again.
In this case, well, it was obvious.
‘He must have to protect something important in the back.’
Seo-jun looked at the wall behind the Magic Tower Master. There, a soccer-ball-sized ring-shaped object was floating inside a glass tube.
‘I want to touch it.’
Seo-jun drew a machete from his inventory and threw it.
However, it was blocked by the Magic Tower Master’s shield, which was nearly three meters wide.
-Yeah, no.
-lololol how long are you going to keep dodging?
-There’s no answer, right? You have to retry, right?
-Let’s go get some bombs at least and come back.
‘As expected.’
I knew it would be like this.
Crackle.
“Not so fast!”
The Magic Tower Master shouted and stretched out his hand.
He seemed agitated.
Kraboom!
Seo-jun tilted his head to the side to dodge the lightning while thinking.
‘This is the second question.’
Seo-jun captured in his eyes the blue lightning that lingered in the air for about a second.
It was beautiful.
From a distance, it was merely a single bolt of lightning, but up close, several thin blue streaks of light converged and split, forming a single shape.
‘Why did they specifically tell me not to use Spot Weakness for the mission?’
In any case, lightning could never be cut or neutralized.
This was impossible even if Seo-jun were to bring his body and realm from his past life.
‘Was it just something an ordinary person said?’
Would they spend a million won for that?
Even if not for the amount, Seo-jun had an intuition that the person who set the mission was someone related to the game.
And that intuition grew stronger the more he looked at the lingering lightning.
There was something in there.
Seo-jun pulled himself together and surrendered his body to his instincts.
Kraboom!
The sound of air rupturing rang out, and in an instant, a fantastic streak created by blue electrical charges passed before Seo-jun’s eyes.
Like a broken window, multiple streaks of lightning gathered and scattered together.
The overlapping intersection of small branches. Its center point.
At that split second, Seo-jun drove his sword there, following his intuition.
