Chapter 50 – The Snail’s Jealousy

In fact, Osaek-i had the ability to influence Hee-na’s ‘Home Sweet Home’.

‘I know that ability all too well.’

This was because she had experienced interior design terror by making Osaek-i angry.

Hee-na stared at the wall, which had now practically become damp with sweat. As time passed, the inside of the house grew increasingly damp and sticky.

“For now, we need to find Osaek-i before the situation gets any worse.”

If they left it alone, water might pool on the floor, and the entire wall might end up covered in mold.

“Osaek-i! Let’s talk it out first!”

“Where are you? Osaek-i!”

The siblings searched the entire room even more urgently, looking for the snail.

“Osaek-i! You were here! How long we’ve been looking for you!”

After turning the house upside down, Hee-na finally found Osaek-i. Osaek-i was stuffed in the innermost part of Hee-na’s sock drawer.

Having retreated completely into its shell, Osaek-i was hard to distinguish from the neatly rolled-up socks. It was no wonder Hee-na and Hee-won couldn’t find it for a long time.

Hee-na and Hee-won sat facing each other with the sock drawer between them.

“Osaek-i?”

“Would you like to come out for a moment?”

They spoke, but the snail shell did not budge.

“I know you are very upset. But we need to talk.”

Hee-na coaxed Osaek-i while gently stroking its shell.

Somehow, the socks around Osaek-i seemed particularly drenched. At this, Hee-na wondered to herself, ‘Can snails shed tears too?’

“You are practically our family, so we can’t just stop seeing each other forever just because we got a few more houses.”

As she leaned down and whispered earnestly, the shell seemed to tremble slightly.

“Hmm? Osaek-i. Snail-nim, who has the prettiest shell in the world! Let’s talk! Surely, you aren’t going to leave our house like this?”

At the mention of ‘Home Sweet Home’, the snail’s antennas peeked out.

““Current situation: Caster’s own doing. Betrayal. Betrayal.””

It did not forget to blame Hee-na at the same time. However, instead of feeling bad about those words, Hee-na was happy. It meant Osaek-i was finally willing to talk!

“Yes. It is natural that you feel betrayed.”

As she coaxed it gently, Osaek-i’s sorrow seemed to explode. Osaek-i described the emotions it felt using all kinds of abbreviations, special characters, and emoticons.
